Zed

Zed is a code editor with an Agent panel. Use its OpenAI-compatible provider to send Chat Completions requests.

Complete the Quickstart: add credits, create a key, and copy a model ID from Marketplace. Choose a model with tool support for agent tasks. The example ID is claude-sonnet-5-5; replace it with your selection. Install Zed.

Configure the toolCopy Anchor Link

Run zed: open settings file from the command palette and merge the provider below. The user settings path is ~/.config/zed/settings.json on macOS/Linux or %APPDATA%\Zed\settings.json on Windows.

The example chooses a 32000-token context budget and a 4096-token output budget; these are client settings, not a claim about the model's maximum. Check the model's displayed context in Marketplace. The current dashboard does not display each offer's output ceiling; reduce the output budget if the gateway returns an output-limit error. In agent: open settings, enter your unused.market key for the unused provider. Do not put the key in settings.json. Select unused.market in the Agent model picker.

Verify the connectionCopy Anchor Link

Ask: “Say hello in one sentence without using tools.” Then open Analytics → Requests. Find the new request by time and model. A response and a matching row confirm that traffic reached your account. This checks the connection, not the quality of repository edits.

Limits and troubleshootingCopy Anchor Link

Keep chat_completions: true; setting it to false selects Responses, which this gateway does not expose. Tool support still depends on the offer. This setup covers the Agent's model connection, not every Zed feature.
